It’s officially spray paint season! In celebration of the 2018 spray paint season, I’ve gathered up a round up of some of my current favorite spray painting artists, videos, and spray paint art ideas on Youtube. These artists are currently inspiring my own artwork for the 2018 painting season.
I’m starting a new series for the blog on Mondays called Inspiration Monday. These posts will detail what is currently inspiring my newest artwork and creative projects. The first installment will feature spray paint, since it is finally warm enough for me to paint here in Illinois, if perhaps a little too warm. This series will give you a glimpse into what inspired my artwork and a peek behind the scenes of my creation process. Hopefully, this series will leave you also feeling inspired and ready to tackle your own creative projects.
Spray Paint Art Ideas
While I was waiting for the weather to cooperate with me, I decided to watch some of my favorite YouTube spray paint artists. I’ve selected three of my favorite YouTube spray painters to feature for your inspiration purposes today!
Spraycasso is an amazing artist, with numerous videos on YouTube for different skill levels. I began my own personal spray painting journey after watching an artist paint at the Illinois State Fair, and promptly went home and started watching videos from Spraycasso. His paintings often feature landscapes and space scenes.
He has been an awesome resource in developing my skills as a spray paint artist. He is also a great resource for new spray paint art ideas. I highly recommend anyone interested in finding out more about this art form to check him out! Make sure you look at the playlist tab, as this is where you can find most of his videos, sorted by current skill level. Additionally, he has a television show if you are lucky enough to have it in your area (which I am not), and he also produces his own brand of spray paints.
Another artist creating unique paintings from spray paint is Skech. He has developed some interesting techniques that help move you from beginner to intermediate levels. Skech always has unique spray paint art ideas! While his videos do not typically have full tutorials on the techniques, you can learn a lot by simply watching him create his paintings. His paintings often feature popular cultural icons from television or movies, landscapes, and space scenes.
Porfirio Jimenez Art
My favorite spray paint artist at the moment is Porfirio Jimenez from Mexico. He makes me laugh a lot. Additionally, his videos typically feature at least one technique that he explains, as well as more than can learned through watching him create his paintings. His paintings often feature space, ocean life, landscapes with water, and popular action heroes from Dragon Ball and Marvel. Porfirio embraces mistakes that happen during a painting, and has a blast through the whole painting process. He is one of my favorite resources for pushing myself further with different spray paint art ideas and techniques.
I hope you are feeling properly inspired after checking out these three amazing and talented artists at work! Let me know which is your favorite in the comments below! Also, make sure to share this post to all of your friends so they can get a dose of inspiration as well! Come back next week for more inspiration and creative ideas from the Inspiration Monday series. Feel free to join my tribe and mailing list so that you don’t miss out on anything!
